Doors & passage
Hung, latched and tuned to a nickel-slide — from paint-grade slabs to quartersawn oak with hardware you will still be handing down when the paint has been renewed four times.

Whole-house trim
Base, casing and crown run in sequence, every inside corner coped, every reveal held to the same sixteenth from the first room to the last.

Stair systems
Treads, risers, scribed skirts and rails — the one part of a house people put their whole weight on, and the part we build like it.

Libraries & built-ins
Floor-to-ceiling cases, ladder rails, window seats with drawers below. Furniture that happens to be part of the room, because it was cut for nothing else.

Mantels & surrounds
Floating shelves on hidden steel, paneled chimney breasts, hearths scribed to stone older than the street it sits on.

Commissions
Tables, benches and case pieces built to order when the shop calendar allows — usually two a year, never rushed, never repeated.

The bench record
Photographed at walkthrough, on the last day of each install. No staging, no borrowed light, no grading.
The joinery ledger
The library made our house the one where the book club meets. Eleven people a month climb that ladder rail; it has not moved a hair.
Copperleaf rebuilt our staircase and matched the 1914 originals so well the heritage inspector asked which pieces were new. All of them.
We asked for a mantel. We got a reason to rearrange the furniture twice a season.
How far out is the calendar?
Design visits usually land within two weeks. Fabrication slots run four to eight weeks out depending on scope — stairs and libraries are seasonal; doors and trim squeeze in sooner. The visit ends with real dates on paper, not a range with a shrug.
Do you design or build?
Both, and the loop is short: the person drawing your library is the person cutting the joinery, so nothing gets lost in a handover. The drawings are yours whoever builds — we would rather lose the job than the reputation.
Which woods do you work in?
Paint-grade poplar and MDF where paint will cover; quartersawn oak, walnut, cherry and reclaimed fir where it will not. We buy from two mills we have used for a decade and sticker every board in the shop before it is cut.
Can we live at home through the install?
Yes. One room at a time, plastic at the doorways, HEPA extraction on every tool. The longest residential install we run is three weeks; most are four days.
