Rack prices, published. Template, fabrication and the set are one number per square foot; the remnant line is the offcut rack, restocked most weeks — Friday is the day to dig.

How it goes
Saturday to Friday, in order
Walk the racks
Saturday morning, no appointment. Sixty bundles, prices on the rack, coffee on the bench. You point; the reserve goes on; we photograph the face.
The laser template
Within the week, two hours in your kitchen on the existing tops. Walls that bow, corners that lean — the digitizer reads all of it at ±0.25 mm.
The cut behind the rack
The file drives the CNC twenty steps from where you chose the slab. Mitered pairs clamp overnight; the setters who will land it watch it come off the saw.
The set, and the sweep
One morning: old tops out, stone levelled, seams closed at 1.6 mm in tinted epoxy. The kitchen is a kitchen again by three.
Why yard-first
The yard behind the ford
Most fabricators are a shop that tolerates a few slabs; we are a yard that bought a saw. That order matters: you choose from the actual stone, at rack prices, standing where it is racked — not from a sample the size of a paperback under showroom lighting. Sixty-odd bundles, three quarries we visit, a remnant rack that pays for the roof, and a CNC close enough to the coffee that you can watch your own kitchen move through it.
The rack price is the quote price
The number written on the bundle is the number on your invoice, fabricated and installed — the template is inside it, not added after. If a Hollybrook invoice ever exceeds the rack rate on your material, do not pay the excess; bring it to the counter and we will settle it ourselves.

The five the counter hears every Saturday. If yours is not here, the yard line at the bottom runs six days and the person who answers can see the racks from where they stand.
Quartz, granite or quartzite — in one breath each?
Quartz is engineered and non-porous: never sealed, never stained, pattern printed — wonderful servant, poor impersonator. Granite is natural and porous: sealed here for fifteen years, forgives a hot pan, ages with character. Quartzite is sandstone that grew up under a mountain: nearly as tough as granite, takes a honed face like paper, costs the most of the three. The rack holds all three and we will hand you a sample of each.
What is actually on the remnant rack?
Offcuts too good to chip: half-slabs and better from big kitchens, restocked most weeks, forty percent off the rack rate. Vanities, sills, hearth tops, bench tops — anything under about three metres. Friday afternoons are when the regulars dig, and the good pieces rarely see a Saturday.
Can I bring my own drawing or fitter?
Yes. Fabrication-only runs $32 a square foot plus the edge card, your fitter gets the template file and the sink cutout drawings, and we will still walk the racks with you — some of our best kitchens arrived in somebody else’s van.
Do the waterfall legs really read as one piece?
Cut as a mitered pair from the same slab as the top and glued on a 45-degree line, the grain runs over the edge and straight to the floor — at $148 a linear foot, guests run a finger down the corner looking for the joint. The strip-and-fill version some shops sell reads as exactly what it is from across a room; we do not sell it.
How fast, honestly?
Template within the week of the reserve, install about three Fridays later — the saw is twenty steps from the rack and the queue is usually the quartz finisher. The kitchen itself is out for one morning. Remnant jobs sometimes go out the same week, because the stone is already standing on the rack.
Kitchens off the racks
The ford says
The price was written on the bundle in wax pencil: seventy-eight. The invoice said seventy-eight. I stood in front of the actual slab for an hour before I committed — and the mitered island legs came off the same bundle, so the grain runs down like it was poured.
A servery for the tearoom out of a Friday remnant — forty percent off, cut the same week, sealed the same day. The manager asked what the catch was. Three years on we are still waiting for it to show up.
Our surgery counter gets wiped with everything the dispensary owns. Quartz, coved upstands, no seam where the law looks — two inspections, two passes, and the gloves never found a place to stop.
A sample the size of a paperback is a promise. A rack you can walk is a fact. We sold the fact.

Come point at a slab
Or write first: metres, material and the room it is for — enough for a rack-rate quote, and we will hold two or three bundles with your name on the tape. The remnant list goes out by email on Fridays. slab@hollybrooksurface.example
