Builder-grade lighting is why your beautiful room photographs like a filing cabinet. Lumen replaces the grid of blobs with three layers — task, accent, ambient — designed on a reflected ceiling plan and tuned on site at dusk.
- Designed before wired A ceiling plan with every fixture, junction and dimmer located — you approve the drawing, not a surprise junction box.
- Tuned at dusk, in person We return at sunset to set scenes and dimming curves. Lighting you have to squint at is lighting we did not finish.

The consult, in your rooms
Ninety minutes at dusk if possible — we watch what your light does before we change it. $150, credited to the plan.
The ceiling plan
Fixtures, circuits, dimming and scenes on one drawing. Approved by you, permitted by us.
Install & the dusk tuning
Licensed install, then we return at sunset to aim, dim and set your scenes. The room you bought is the room you get.
Same furniture, same paint, completely different house. The dusk tuning visit is where the money was — they dimmed half of what they installed and the room got better.
Three quotes from electricians offered me "6-inch cans everywhere". Lumen offered me a drawing. The drawing won, the room won, our dinner parties won.
They lit a 1911 house without scarring a single plaster rosette. The fishing plan alone was worth the fee.

Do you sell fixtures?
We specify them and pass them through at cost — the spec sheet is yours either way. No markup theatre: the fee is the design and the install, stated plainly above.
Can you work with my contractor?
Happily — the ceiling plan is drawn to slot into their build at rough-in, and our electricians coordinate the inspection. Roughly a third of our work is inside other people's renovations.
Is lighting design worth it in a small home?
A single-room plan changes the room you actually live in — kitchen or lounge — from $1,900. It is the highest neighbour-envy-per-dollar spend in the house.
Warm dimming — what did you do to my bulbs?
Warm-dim technology: the light drops from 2700K toward 1800K as it dims, like a filament, instead of going grey. Once people feel it they rewire the rest of the house for it. That is the 92%.
