The four fences we build

Cedar privacy
Western red boards on three-rail construction, spaced to a pencil width and checked every tenth by level. Board-and-batten and shadowbox patterns quoted off the same walk of the line — the cedar that holds stain for a decade.

Chain-link, galvanized & coated
Nine-gauge galvanized or black vinyl-coated with a tensioned top rail and terminal posts in concrete. The fence that outlives the dog, the kids and most of the neighbourhood — and the one every league field trusts.

Composite fencing
Solid privacy lines in the composite families that never ask for paint or stain, racked to follow the grade without stepping. Priced once, installed once, looked at for twenty-five years.

Gates & access
Walk gates, double drive gates to sixteen feet and keyed cantilever gates for long lanes — hinges welded, wheels over-set, and the latch set at the height your arm actually is, not where the catalogue put it.

The street has opinions
Three quotes, and Post & Picket were the only ones who pulled the plat before they priced. The line went in a board-width inside our marks, dead straight across a grade that fooled the crew before last. The gate still swings with one finger.
We wanted chain-link for the dog and dreaded how it would look. They showed us the black-coated option at the walk, and honestly the garden eats it — you cannot find the fence in the photographs from August.
The pool inspector passed the fence on the first visit and asked who hung the gate. Self-closing, perfect latch height, and they came back after the first hard rain to re-tune it like the paperwork promised they would.

How deep do the posts go?
Forty-eight inches, in concrete, on every post — corners, ends and gates included. Frost in this county lifts a shallow post about an inch a year, and a fence is only as straight as its laziest hole. We would rather dig once.
Cedar, chain-link or composite?
Cedar for the classic line that takes stain, chain-link for the budget that never regrets, composite for the privacy you never want to paint. We install all three and quote all three off the same walk — the yard usually decides.
Who calls the locates?
We file the 811 ticket before any hole and set the string a board-width inside your marks off the plat. If the pins are missing we stop and bring in the surveyor, because a fence in the wrong place is the most expensive fence there is.
How fast is a line?
A 150-foot cedar line is two days on site — one for posts and concrete, one for rails, boards and the gate. Chain-link is faster. Estimates inside 24 hours, and most builds start within three weeks of the call.
