We answer these before we talk about a single board, because they are the reason the phone was picked up. The services below only matter once the answers hold.
Can we genuinely stay in the house?
Yes — that is the entire design. One room is sealed at a time, the house keeps a finished room to live in throughout, and waterborne finishes cure overnight with almost no odour. The cat will need supervising; that part is on you.
What about the dust I have heard about for years?
Every machine extracts through HEPA filtration rated at 99.97 percent at 0.3 microns, and each workroom runs at negative air so what dust exists travels into the filter rather than through your home. On the last day we wipe the skirting ourselves — the cloth is the proof, not the promise.
We work nights and sleep days. Now what?
Then so do we, on request. The night crew runs 6pm to 2am at no premium for rooms that need to cure through a sleeping house’s quiet hours. The schedule is built around the household, never the other way round.
How long is the baby off the nursery floor?
One day. The nursery is sequenced last, sanded and finished in a single morning, and cured with the windows we opened for you before we knock — sock traffic by bedtime, cot back on felt the following evening.

The containment system
The box itself
A room sealed is a room saved: zipped barriers at every door, sheeted and taped at every edge, with a negative-air machine pulling the room slightly below the house so dust cannot walk out under the zip. It goes up before the first machine starts and comes down the day the room is handed back.
One room, one day
The house is worked as a sequence of small, whole jobs — sanded, sealed and coated while the family lives around it, a finished room always available. It is slower for us than emptying the house and running three machines, which is exactly why we price it the same: containment is the service, not the surcharge.
The quiet machinery
Low-speed plates instead of drums wherever the floor allows, each one on HEPA extraction; board repairs cut by multitool rather than circular saw; and a vac running at the cut. The neighbours on the ward will tell you the van was there. They will not tell you they heard it.

An evening visit with meters and finish samples. Rooms are read for moisture, the sequence is planned around the household’s hours, and the fixed quote is left on paper — with the schedule of which room finishes on which night.
The seal
Barriers up, negative air on, the first room’s furniture moved to the middle and sheeted by our crew. Nothing you own leaves the house on a Hushbox job.
The mend and the sand
Board repairs woven from matched stock, squeaks screwed and blocked, then the low-speed abrade — three fine passes rather than one aggressive one, because gentle is quiet and quiet was the brief.
The coats
Sealer and two waterborne topcoats, each overnight-cured, odour no worse than a raincoat. Sock traffic the morning after the last coat; furniture on felt after three days; the containment down and the skirting wiped by our hands.

The wards talk, quietly
I work nights and every quote I got assumed I could leave the house for a week. Hushbox asked for my schedule, worked 6pm to 2am, and finished the hall while I slept two rooms away with the door shut. The dust check I did at the end was almost disappointing.
Two dogs, a toddler and a husband who did not believe in dustless anything. The barriers went up Monday, came down Friday, and the white cloth I ran along the bookcase on Saturday came back white. He has stopped disbelieving, which in our house is a documented first.
The nursery was done last, in one morning, cured by bedtime, and the crew opened the windows themselves before they knocked on the door to say it was ready. I have hired a lot of trades. I have never been handed a schedule that had my child’s nap times written on it before.

The clean-cloth guarantee
On the last day of every job, a Hushbox crew member wipes the skirting, the sills and the top of a door frame of your choosing with a white cloth, in front of you. If the cloth comes back grey, the final clean is ours — the whole house, by our crew, at our cost — and the guarantee is on the quote, not in the handshake.
One finished room, always
