The Weald floods twice a decade and every basement in it knows the date. Flood hardening, not mopping

Anybody can shop-vac a basement. We make the next flood a non-event: seal the paths water already found, anchor the walls the pressure is bowing, and give the water a place to go that is not your floor. Every job opens with moisture readings and crack gauges, closes with the log in your hands, and carries a warranty measured in years, not dry seasons.

For cracks that are actively weeping — the ones with a white mineral beard or a damp trail down the wall. Hydrophilic polyurethane resin goes in low and reacts with the water in the crack, foaming into a gasket that swells against moisture instead of surrendering to it. Cured in an hour, flexible for decades, and the wall stops taking on water the same day.

Wall anchors & tiebacks

For block and poured walls bowing inward: earth anchors set in undisturbed soil outside, steel rods through the wall, plates inside — torqued to a schedule that pulls the wall back a little at a time over months rather than cracking it straight in an afternoon. Where access is impossible, helical tiebacks screw in from inside and hold the line where it stands.

A channel cut inside the footing feeding a basin with a primary pump, a battery-backed secondary on a separate switch, a high-water alarm that calls your phone, and a gravity overflow to daylight for the storm that outlasts both. One pump is a bet; two with a battery and an exit is a system.

  1. Thaw

    The reading

    Moisture readings along every wall, gauges on every crack, a scope down the sump pit to see what the last storm left behind. You keep the readings whatever you decide.

  2. Week 1

    The seal

    Weeping cracks injected from the bottom port up; cold joints sealed at the floor line. The paths water already found close first, while the weather is still on your side.

  3. Weeks 2–5

    The hold

    Anchors set and torqued to schedule, channel steel bolted slab-to-joist where a wall needs a spine. Torque and deflection logged before the plates are dressed.

  4. The rains

    The trial

    The system gets its exam the first big storm after install. We ask every customer for a photo of the floor the morning after — dry is the report we file.

  5. Month 12

    The re-reading

    Same gauges, same walls, same hour of the day. The log from year one sits beside the log from year two, and the two of them are the warranty made visible.

Two floods in three years, sandbags in the doorway both times. Redgate injected the cracks, anchored the north wall and put in the two-pump sump in five weeks. The third flood came last February — we slept through it, and the floor was dry enough to walk on in socks at seven in the morning. The alarm text arrived at 2 a.m. and the battery pump had already handled it.

Asked every first call

The five the duty line hears most between six and six. Yours not here? It has still been asked — and answered.

The crack is damp but not pouring. Injection or excavation?

Injection, almost always. A damp or bearded crack is water under pressure finding one path — polyurethane follows that path and gaskets it from inside. Excavation is for failures of the wall itself, not of the crack, and we say so when a sales pitch would say otherwise.

What does sump redundancy actually mean?

A primary pump on mains, a secondary on a battery with its own float, a high-water alarm that texts you, and a gravity line to daylight for the storm that beats both. Redundancy is not a bigger pump — it is the assumption that any single part can fail on the worst night of the year.

Will anchors straighten my wall?

Partly, slowly and honestly. Torqued over months, anchors pull a wall back a portion of its bow and then hold the line; promising a fully plumb wall by force is how walls get cracked worse. We photograph and gauge the wall at every visit so the progress is a record, not a claim.

How long do we need to stay out of the basement?

Injection rooms are usable the same day; anchor installs run two to four days a wall with plastic run to the stairs; a perimeter drain is the longest — a week of channel cutting and pouring. We sequence the noisy parts together and tell you the schedule before we start, not after.

Do you work through the flood season?

It is most of what we do. Duty line from six to six year-round, emergency pump response within 48 hours county-wide, and triage that gets water moving first and papers the repair second.

The morning-after standard

If a seal we injected weeps, an anchor we torqued drifts, or a sump system we closed fails inside ten years, we return and make it right at our cost. The warranty is written against the log we leave with you — measurements, not adjectives.
