Foxglove is a studio for one decision most households get rushed through: the colour. Two painted sample panels left on your wall for three days, a sheen map written for every surface in the room, and a rate card that prices the painting the same way it prices the choosing — plainly, by surface, before we open a tin.

The colour method
How the choosing works
Four visits, three of them short. The colour is the only thing we rush nowhere.
The visit — an hour at your table
We look at the light in every direction it arrives, talk about what the room is for, and leave two large painted sample panels — not chips — on the wall where the sofa lives.
Three days of your own light
North rooms eat colour at noon and give it back at dusk; the chip cannot tell you that, but your wall can. You live with both panels for three days; most clients know by the second morning.
The sheen map
Colour chosen, we write the sheen for every surface: dead-flat matte on ceilings, washable matte on walls, eggshell or satin where hands travel, and a scrub-safe gloss on the woodwork — one card, every room, no guessing at the counter.
The painting, to the card
Furniture moved, rooms tented and HEPA-extracted, two coats cut in by hand and laid off wet. The specification from visit one is the checklist at hand-back, and the leftover paint is labelled by room and left with you.
We had four grey samples in a drawer and two years of not choosing. Odette left two panels on the dining wall, and by the second breakfast we both pointed at the same one. The painting was almost an afterthought — the choosing was the service.

Three rooms, properly chosen
The sheen map alone was worth the visit. Our hallway had been a streaky satin mess for years because the last painter used one sheen everywhere — the card explained in a minute what I could not have diagnosed in a decade.
They talked us OUT of the colour we arrived with, politely, with two panels and a north window. The one we chose instead is the thing every visitor mentions before they mention the furniture.
Cabinetry sprayed in our chosen colour, tented in the garage, back on soft-close hinges the same week — and the invoice matched the card to the dollar, including the visit they credited back.
The card, the wall, the invoice
The rate card is the quote, the sample panels are the proof, and the invoice matches the card for the surfaces we walked together. If a chosen colour disappoints, the repaint of one room is half price inside the first year — choosing is hard, and we share the risk of it.

Fair questions
Why panels instead of chips?
A chip is ink on card under factory light; a panel is your paint on your wall at 7 a.m. in February. We have watched the same chip look like three different colours in three rooms of one house.
What if we cannot decide in three days?
Then we paint two more panels — different colours, not the same two — and the clock starts again. Eleven days is our record; that kitchen is now the one the whole street copies.
Do you paint exteriors too?
Yes, in the same colour-first way: the sample goes on the west gable, because that is the elevation the weather and the neighbours actually see, and the system underneath is a full three-coat specification.
Which paint do you use?
Washable mattes and eggshells from the makers a colour studio should carry — chosen with you at the visit for the room it must survive, billed at the till price, receipt stapled.
How far out is the studio booked?
Colour visits inside ten days; painting three to five weeks after the choosing. We will not compress the three days of panels to fit a calendar — that is the whole method.
