Five crafts, one crew

Whole-home interiors
Ceiling to baseboard in washable matte or eggshell: walls washed, nail pops cut out and re-taped, gaps caulked, one primer coat and two finish coats. A floor of four rooms usually runs Monday to Thursday, with the furniture moved and returned by us.

Spray-finished cabinetry
Doors and drawers come off, get sealed behind a spray tent and receive a factory-flat catalysed enamel — no brush marks, no orange peel — then go back on their soft-close hinges the same week. A kitchen run averages three days, start to vacuum.

Wallpaper & murals
Hand-trimmed, pattern-matched and booked the old way, from a single-roll accent wall to full dining rooms. We centre the pattern on the chimney breast like it is the front page, because in that room it is.

Colour consult, included
A sit-down at your own table with large painted swatches under your own light — north-facing rooms lie at the paint counter. You finish with a named, numbered specification for every surface, not a pocketful of chips.

Plaster & drywall repair
Crack stitching, skim coating and ceiling-texture matching, feathered flush and sanded to 220 grit so the repair disappears under the first coat instead of telegraphing through it by winter.

How a Fairweather week goes
The same sequence on every job — the only variable is your project.
Day 0
The walkthrough
We measure, photograph and mostly listen. The written quote — rooms, coats, paint lines and dates — lands within 48 hours, and it is the number you pay.
Day 1
Containment
ZipWalls up, tack mats down, furniture grouped and covered in the middle of the room, vents sealed. The HEPA vacuum lives inside the tent, not outside it.
Days 2–3
Prep & prime
Walls washed and sanded, gloss killed, fillers feathered, bare spots spot-primed. Prep is four-fifths of a finish that still looks new in year eight.
Final day
Finish & hand-back
Two finish coats rolled and laid off wet, lines cut by hand, everything put back on its felt pads, floors vacuumed. We walk each room with a raking lamp before the van door closes.
Word of mouth
Three doors we left better
They painted our stair hall while we worked from home, and by day two I had honestly forgotten they were in the house. The cut line where wall meets ceiling is straighter than the house itself.
The consult changed the whole plan. The grey we arrived wanting looked dead on our north wall, and they said so to our faces. The sage we left with is the best thing in the house.
Sprayed our kitchen cabinets in three days. Three. The neighbour asked if we had bought new doors, so I gave him the number and the card.
The clean-hand-back promise
If your home is not returned vacuumed, your furniture back on its felt pads and the tent gone by the hour we promised, the last coat is on us. In eleven years we have paid it twice — both times because a job ran long, and both times we said so before you asked.
Fair questions
How much dust should I actually expect?
Almost none you can see: the work area is tented with zipper walls, the sander runs on a HEPA extractor, and a tack mat guards the doorway. You will find more dust after a chimney sweep.
Can you work around us living in the house?
That is the normal week for us. We sequence rooms so your kitchen or bedroom is only ever out of service for the nights we say it will be, and the tent keeps the rest of the floor livable.
What paint do you use?
Washable matte and eggshell systems from Benjamin Moore, Farrow & Ball or Fine Paints of Europe — chosen with you at the consult, billed at cost, cans left on your counter.
Do you move the furniture?
We move it, cover it and put it back on felt pads. The only things we ask you to take are the breakables and the electronics.
How far ahead are you booking?
Three to five weeks for full floors, sooner for single rooms. Cancellations go to the top of the list, and we always tell you the real date rather than the hopeful one.
