Asphalt is a schedule, not a purchase.

Everblack keeps the mat you already own alive: two squeegee coats after the first winter, cracks routed to a half inch and hot-filled every cycle, lines re-beaded when they stop catching headlights. The shop calendar is the whole business model — we call you, you do not chase us.

The calendar trades

01

The two-coat cycle — $0.93 / sq ft

Squeegee, never spray: two coats brushed into the mat with cracks routed and hot-filled first. The spray rig puts down one thin film that peels in sheets; the squeegee pushes sealer into the pores, which is the entire point of the exercise.

02

Crack routing & fill — $2.65 / lin ft

Cracks chased with a router to a half-inch channel, blown clean, and sealed hot with the rubber recessed below the surface — so the repair survives the plow and the snowblower, not just the summer.

03

Seal & stripe lots — $0.93 + $0.79 / lin ft

The lot visit does both: routed, sealed, then restriped to the layout with 4-in lines at 15 mils and fresh beads. One mobilization, one invoice, and the lot reads like the year it was built.

04

New mats when the calendar says so — $4.45–5.65 / sq ft

When the measure says sealing is money thrown at a dying mat, we say so and quote the replacement: 2.5 in in two lifts with tack between. Everblack talks customers out of work every spring — it is why the calendar is nineteen seasons long.

The whole calendar

The five dates of a driveway’s life

The whole maintenance argument in five dates. Hit them and the mat outlives the mortgage; miss the middle three and year ten arrives early with an overlay quote in its hand.

1

Year 0 — cure

Ninety quiet days: foot traffic tomorrow, cars by the week, sharp things off it a fortnight. The cure card on your door carries the dates for your weather.

2

Year 1 — first seal

Two squeegee coats after one winter of weather. The first seal does more for a mat’s life than every coat after it combined.

3

Years 3–4 — the cycle

Seal every third or fourth season, cracks routed and hot-filled each visit. Sealing yearly builds a film that peels — the cycle is the medicine.

4

Year 6 — routing year

Thermal cracks announce themselves. Routed to a half inch and sealed recessed, they stay cosmetic instead of structural.

5

Year 10 — verdict

We measure and say which it wants: another cycle, an overlay, or replacement. The honest answer is the one we are known for.

2025 — 2026

We call you

Every surface Everblack touches goes in the shop book with its cure date, first-seal date and cycle beside it, and the book is checked every spring against the calendar. Nineteen seasons in, the shop has called customers it had not heard from in nine years. A few thought it was a sales trick; then their drives turned a decade without a crack worth routing.

Why Everblack exists

The shop calls before the drive asks

Sealing is the most skippable line item in a household budget and the most expensive one to skip. A mat sealed on the cycle outlasts two that were not; a mat sealed every year grows a film that peels and tracks. The difference is a phone call made on time — so the company is built around making it.

Year eleven and Everblack called before I did — routed cracks, two coats, and the drive looked closer to new than the house felt. The invoice matched the proofline on their poster to the cent. I have stopped thinking of it as a paving company; it is more like a subscription my driveway has.
S. Marek · Cycle five, Quince Hollow
Our lot was eleven years unsealed and every bid wanted to overlay it. Everblack measured, said the mat was sound and the cracks were not yet structural, and ran the cycle instead — routing, two coats, restripe. Two seasons later it is their gallery photo, and it cost us a fifth of the overlay quotes.

Calendar questions

The four the phone rings with in April. If yours is not here, the shop line runs seven to five and the person on it has squeegeed something in your neighbourhood.

Why not seal every year?

Because sealer builds. Each coat is a film about the thickness of a business card; two coats on the cycle is protection, six coats in six years is a laminate that cracks along its own edges and tracks into the house. The calendar is the medicine — year one, then every third or fourth season.

Squeegee or spray — does it honestly matter?

The spray rig covers four times the ground and puts most of the sealer sitting on top of the mat. The squeegee forces sealer into the pores and wipes the excess off the high points — slower, uglier on the crew, and the reason a squeegeed drive is still black when a sprayed one has gone grey.

My drive is new. Can you seal it now so it starts protected?

We could, and we would be stealing from you. A fresh mat needs about ninety days to finish curing — sealing sooner traps the oils that still need to escape, and the mat stays soft underneath a hard shell. Anyone knocking on doors to seal month-old asphalt is selling film, not protection.

What happens at the year-ten visit?

We measure instead of assume. If the mat is sound, the cycle continues. If the cracks have gone structural, we say the word overlay and quote it from the same card — and enough customers have heard that word from us after nine good years that they believe it when we say the opposite.

Put your drive on the calendar

Address and the age of the surface is enough to start. The first visit measures and routes, the cycle does the rest, and the shop calls when each date comes due. calendar@everblackseal.example
