The elevation index
01
Full re-side, fiber cement — $9.40–11.80 / sq ft
Hardie lap or panel, blind-nailed on gauge, ColorPlus baked at the factory or primed for site paint. Tear-off, dumpster, wrap and flashings are inside the number — the quote is the quote.
02
Vertical & batten elevations — from $8.75 / sq ft
Panel and batten runs, vented gable panels, and the corner boards to carry them. The profile that turns a plain elevation into a drawing, and the one the bluff’s new builds keep asking for by name.
03
Trim, soffit & fascia — $10–15 / lin ft
Fiber-cement casings and corners, aluminum-wrapped fascia, ventilated soffit runs. The millwork is where a re-side stops reading like a re-skin, and it is measured to the linear foot, not eyeballed.
04
Storm & hail restoration — scope written free
Damage photographed from the ladder and written in the adjuster’s own format: measurement, cause, code, line by line. We meet the adjuster on the wall; the tear-off waits for the agreed number.
The envelope
A wall is a machine for staying dry
Four layers do the work and only one of them is the siding you see: the wrap that sheds what beats the face, the flashings that turn water out at every opening, the battens that hold the board off so the wall can dry, and the board itself, blind-nailed so the fastener never becomes a leak. Corbray builds all four on every elevation — and the quote prices all four.
Fixed to the square foot
Walls measured flat, openings counted, one number issued: per square foot, times the measured wall, tear-off to touch-up inside it. In nine years the number has moved for exactly one client — because he changed the board.
ColorPlus lead times run 3–4 weeks from the measure — spring slots go first · (555) 026-7742 · build@corbrayexteriors.example
The night gallery
Recent elevations
Six re-sides from the junction and the bluff, photographed at dusk the week of the walk. Factory colors hold in low light what site paint has to be talked into.
How it goes
Nine working days
The same sequence on every job — the only variable is your project.
Days 1–2
Measure & order
Elevations measured flat, openings counted, the order placed direct to the distributor against your ColorPlus code or paint spec. The fixed quote is issued before anything is ordered, and the lead time is told to you straight.
Days 3–4
Close-in
Tear-off wall by wall, sheathing repaired where the weather got in, then wrap lapped shingle-style, seams taped and cap-nailed, flashings integrated at every opening. The house is watertight before finish siding starts — and every night until the last board.
Days 5–8
Hang
Starter to a laser, blind-nailed on gauge, the gauge sheet posted on the job wall. Corners, casings and soffit follow the walls up, and the crew that started your elevation is the crew that finishes it.
Day 9
The walk
Magnet sweep for fasteners, a caulk touch-up kit left with you, and both warranties registered the same week — thirty years on the finish, five on the labor, both in your name.
The outfit, in figures
We went in for one color and came out with Iron Gray on the field and cedar tone at the gables — the render sold it, the finished wall proved it, and four neighbors have since copied the drawing.
Before the measure
Fair questions
The five every first call asks. If yours is missing, the line at the bottom of the page runs seven to five, junction time.
ColorPlus or paint on site?
ColorPlus is four baked coats that carry the thirty-year finish warranty; site paint is two sprayed coats over primed board, with any color you can mix. Bluff exposure argues for the bake. A sheltered street can afford the deck. We price both to the square foot and let the elevation decide.
Can you mix materials on one elevation?
That is the house style of the junction — lap field, batten or panel gable, shakes at the dormers. Every transition gets its own flashing detail and a caulk joint left at 3/16″, and the drawing shows each seam before the board is ordered.
What happens if it storms mid-job?
The wrap is the weather skin, and it goes on before the boards do — a taped, cap-nailed envelope that has already ridden out two named systems on open houses without a drop inside. The schedule prints storm days in as buffer; you are never surprised by one.
How do you protect the yard?
Tarps under every tear, planks under the dumpster, magnet sweeps at day’s end, and the plantings photographed before the first ladder goes up. The bluff wind takes scaffolding seriously and so do we — everything is tied, nothing is leaned.
Do you handle the insurance claim?
We write the scope in the adjuster’s format from our own ladder — measurement, cause, code — and meet them on the wall. The deductible is yours, the argument is ours, and the tear-off waits for the agreed number. Most scopes go through first pass.
Start with the drawing
Address, wall age, and the look you are after — a photo of the elevation starts the render. The measure is free, the render is free, and the quote is fixed before the first board. build@corbrayexteriors.example
