The two-hour standard
From the moment snow depth crosses your contract trigger, a truck reaches your route within two hours — in the contract, not the brochure. When we miss it, the service credit is automatic; you do not have to catch us.

Anti-ice before the storm
A 23% salt brine sprayed before the first flake stops ice from bonding to the pavement, which turns the plow pass from scraping into clearing. Applied by the gallon, logged by the address, charged by the square foot.

Commercial routes, documented
Every commercial visit ends in a time-stamped photo set and a GPS trace of the pass, in your inbox within twelve hours. When a slip claim lands in March, the file already exists.

Blades matched to the surface
Three-quarter-ton blades and poly edges for stamped concrete and pavers, steel for asphalt, loaders with 6-yard buckets for the Lachlan Ridge parking decks. The wrong edge is how a cheap plow bill becomes an expensive driveway.

Every snow contractor promises to come. FirstPlow promises WHEN, and the two-hour standard carries a penalty we pay: a missed window credits your contract a full day of service, automatically, without a phone call. Last season across 340 contracts, it happened eleven times — and eleven credits landed without anybody asking.

Storm-night accounts
Our plaza has a 24-hour obligation and a lawyer to match. FirstPlow's twelve-hour photo reports ended the annual March argument with the insurer flat — the file shows the timestamp, the pass, the salt. The two-hour window has never once been missed on our lot.
The driveway is a hundred and forty metres of stamped concrete that a steel blade would destroy. They run a poly edge on it specifically, and the brine they put down the afternoon before means the morning pass leaves it BLACK, not scraped-grey. Neighbours have switched over.
Baby came three weeks early on the night of the second-worst storm of the year, at 2 a.m. I called the storm line to say we needed OUT. The dispatcher sent the route truck early, plowed to the garage door, and sanded the hill to the county road. There was no charge on the invoice for that.

Before the snow does
The five questions every property owner asks before the first contract. If yours is not here, the storm line answers it in season, any hour of the storm.
When exactly do you show up?
On the trigger. Residential contracts plow at one inch and hold to a two-hour window from the trigger; commercial obligations run to your lease terms, often continuous. The trigger depth and your window are printed in the contract you sign, not decided on the night.
What if the storm starts at 3 a.m.?
Then the trucks are already rolling — drivers go on shift at the forecast's first confidence, not at sun-up. The Basin roster runs two crews around the clock during a storm cycle, which is exactly what the two-hour standard is built on.
Does brine hurt concrete, pets or the car?
Less than rock salt does. Brine is a 23% solution applied at roughly a tenth of the tonnage of granular salt, before the storm, which means less chlorides into the joints and the lawn edge. We keep pets' exposure in the log too — applied before snowfall means it is under the snow, not on paws.
Per-push or contract — which is sane for me?
Rule of thumb: if you will need clearing more than a dozen times a season — a long driveway, a hill, or you leave for work before the plows — the contract is cheaper by February and never waits for your call. Per-push suits the second home and the one-off. We will quote both against your address.
Where does the snow GO?
Planned in October. Every contract maps push direction and stack sites so you keep your parking, your sightlines and your neighbour's goodwill. In the big February years we haul from commercial lots to the basin site — that is in the contract price too, not a surprise extra.
