String-inverter rooftops
The basin’s default: big unshaded planes, one commercial-grade inverter, DC runs in oversized conduit. When it fails — eleven times in nine seasons across 260 arrays — the swap is one part on one wall, not a roof walk hunting a dead module.

Micros where the shade wins
Cottonwood rows, dormers, the chimney nobody will remove: panel-by-panel electronics beat a string fight, and we install them without apology. A third of our roofs end in micros — the shade model makes the call before the contract does, and the re-quote lands the same week.

Ground arrays along the fence line
Frost-footed piers, winter tilt, trench to the service entrance. Ground arrays cost more cable and less courage than a steep July roof — and they pay the difference back in one basin summer of production.

Stop 1 · Week 1
The survey & the shade verdict
Drone flight, horizon trace, twelve months of bills. String, micros, or a handshake and an honest no — the verdict is written, and it is yours to take to any installer in the county.
Stop 2 · Weeks 2–4
Permits & paper
Building permit, utility interconnection, the HOA packet for the cul-de-sacs that care. You sign twice across the whole project; the milestone dates ride between the two signatures.
Stop 3 · Day one
Set & torque
Flashed attachments under the shingles, rail squared to the ridge, panels set, every fastener torqued to spec and recorded. The DC diagram goes on your garage wall before the crew leaves.
Stop 4 · Week 6
Inspect, meter, monitor
County sign-off, the utility’s meter swap, and the monitoring app on your phone with a day-one baseline. The bench reads your curve every month; anything drifts and you hear it from us first.

Copper, not clips
Every DC run in oversized conduit with lugs torqued to a written value. The cheap version of an array fails at its connections; ours are the part the inspector compliments.
The diagram stays on your wall
A single laminated page: strings, breakers, torque values, shutdown procedure. The electrician you call in 2035 does not need us — that is deliberate.
Re-quote, no re-deal
If the survey says micros after you priced a string, the price changes and the terms do not. Same crew, same warranty, same decade of service — only the electronics move.
I farm four hundred acres; I know equipment that can be serviced from equipment that cannot. Series Six put one inverter on my garage wall, a diagram beside it, and told me the shade row on my barn meant micros — then re-quoted in two days without a word of upsell. Nine seasons of basin dust later, the array has needed one part and I replaced it myself in an afternoon.
