A retreat on the edge of the Atlantic
Come back to your breath.
Three, five or seven days of sea air, slow mornings and practices that stay with you long after you leave. Twelve rooms. No rush.
The retreat
A house above the sea, built for the kind of quiet you forgot you needed.
Halcyon sits on forty acres of cliff-top meadow, forty minutes from Lisbon. Days follow the light: practice in the morning, the sea in the afternoon, early nights. Everything else is optional.
Take one minute
Breathe with us.
Follow the light. Breathe in as it grows, pause, and let it go slowly. Five rounds is about a minute.

The place
Mist in the morning. Salt on everything.
I arrived wound so tightly I couldn’t sit still. By the third morning I was sleeping nine hours and breathing like a different person.
The kindest, most unhurried place I have ever stayed. The sauna at sunset, over the sea, is something I think about every week.
Nothing is performative here. Just good people, extraordinary food and the space to finally hear yourself think.
Before you come
Do I need any experience with yoga or breathwork?
None at all. Every session is offered at three levels, and resting is always an option.
Can I come alone?
Most of our guests do. Meals are shared if you want company and private if you don’t.
What about dietary needs?
Our kitchen is plant-led and cooks around allergies and preferences — tell us when you enquire.
How do I get there?
We collect guests from Lisbon airport or Sintra station. The drive is about forty minutes.
