Plan & Section is a small studio for houses, rooms and quiet public buildings. Every project begins with a pencil, a long walk around the site and a section cut through the ground.
We draw the section first — the line where a building meets the ground, the light and the people inside it. Everything else follows from getting that one drawing right.

In focus — Lyngholmen House
A long timber house that steps down with the rock.
Thirty-eight metres of pine laid along the contour of a granite shelf. One long room faces the water; the bedrooms tuck into the slope behind it. The section drops half a storey where the rock does, so the roof reads as one quiet line from the shore.
Method
Four drawings before a single brick.
Survey
We measure the site by hand and on foot: contours, trees, the path of the sun in every season.
Sketch
Loose studies in pencil until the building has one clear idea it can be explained by.
Section
The cut through ground, rooms and roof that settles heights, light and structure together.
Site
We stay on through construction, drawing details at 1:5 for the people building them.
Studio
Six architects, one long table.

Came from timber engineering. Looks after structure, detail and the long conversations with builders.
